Consortium PT Jimmulya-PV Drilling Secures 3-Year Extension for Jack-up rig PV DRILLING II Contract with Pertamina ONWJ

Jakarta, November 19, 2024 – The Consortium of PT Jimmulya – PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling) is proud to announce the extension of its contract with Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ (PHE ONWJ) for the provision of the jack-up rig PV DRILLING II. The signing ceremony, held at Pertamina ONWJ headquarters in Jakarta, represents a critical milestone for the consortium and underscores its commitment to delivering exceptional offshore drilling services in Indonesia.

The ceremony was attended by top representatives from PT Jimmulya, PV Drilling, and Pertamina’s management, emphasizing the collaboration and trust that have been built over years of successful operations. This contract extension is a testament to the outstanding performance of PV DRILLING II and the strategic leadership of PT Jimmulya in spearheading the consortium’s efforts in Indonesia.


Driving Excellence in Offshore Drilling

The contract extension ensures that PV DRILLING II will remain a key asset in supporting Pertamina’s offshore drilling campaigns in Northwest Java for the next three years, extending its operational commitment until the end of 2028. Since the rig began operations with PHE ONWJ in December 2022, the PV DRILLING II rig has delivered exceptional performance, maintaining an operational efficiency of over 99% while ensuring the highest safety standards. This track record has solidified the trust of PHE ONWJ, leading to this key contract extension.

Strengthening Collaboration with Pertamina

In the weeks leading up to the signing, from November 8 to 11, 2024, a high-level management from Pertamina EP visited PV Drilling’s headquarters and operational facilities in Vietnam. The visit, which was co-facilitated by PT Jimmulya, included a comprehensive tour of PV Drilling’s shorebase, warehouse systems, maintenance workshops, and other critical infrastructure in Vung Tau City.

Pertamina’s delegation visited several key facilities, including PVD Well Services, PVD Logging, and mechanical workshops, observing firsthand the high standards of maintenance, repair, and logistical support provided by PV Drilling. These tours demonstrated the consortium’s readiness to scale operations and adapt to Indonesia’s growing energy demands.

  • Discussions on Service Expansion:

Pertamina expressed keen interest in expanding its collaboration with PV Drilling to include additional service models in Indonesia, particularly in mechanical and maintenance services. These discussions align with PT Jimmulya’s vision of fostering innovation and strengthening local capabilities to support Indonesia’s energy objectives.
